Saturday Blitz Vegas Prediction: Duke Wins 27-17

This is the height of disrespect.

David Cutcliffe’s Duke Blue Devils are 6-1 and have only lost to a very talented Miami Hurricanes team, but the oddsmakers are giving the edge to the most inconsistent Pittsburgh team all year.

Honestly, to be fair, this game is a crapshoot with Pitt at home because if the good Panthers team shows up, they could easily win this game. But that’s only a could, and it’s just as likely the bad team shows up.

Against an experienced and well-coached Duke team that runs the ball very well with Shaun Wilson and Josh Snead, a quarterback in Anthony Boone who doesn’t turn the ball over and makes plays when needed, and a defense ranked No. 5 in the country in points allowed per game with 15.1, the Panthers have to avoid making youthful mistakes.

They’re not going to be able to do that for a full 60 minutes in any game this season, and that’s going to be the case with this game. Duke goes into Pittsburgh and pulls off another solid victory to move to 7-1 and remain first in that division.
