Joshua Dobbs, Quarterback, Tennessee Volunteers- 23 of 40 for 301 Yards & 2 Touchdowns; 24 Carries for 166 Yards and 3 Touchdowns Rushing (Defeated South Carolina Gamecocks 45-42 in Overtime)

For the first time since Erik Ainge, the Tennessee Volunteers appear to have found a quarterback the fans can get behind. Joshua Dobbs had a dominant performance in the Vols upset over South Carolina Saturday night, carrying the offense on his back.

What’s most remarkable is how the Vols came back. Dobbs led them on two touchdown drives with less than 5 minutes to go to tie the game in regulation, including the game-tying drive with less then 2 minutes left. And this was on the road in a huge SEC game.

Talk about the clutch gene! Dobbs looked awful all of last year for Tennessee, but since the Alabama game he has gone through some sort of transformation and is now playing great.

Don’t forget that Tennessee has absolutely no offensive line, and Dobbs is still doing this. He made a few mistakes against South Carolina, but he never gave up and looked confident the whole time. This was probably the gutsiest performance all of Saturday among quarterbacks.
