Mississippi State Bulldogs 8-0 (5-0)

Last week: Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks
Last rank: 1

As our No. 1 team in the country and still the only undefeated team in the SEC, the Mississippi State Bulldogs remain at the top of our SEC Power Rankings. And this honestly shouldn’t even be a question, even with the close game against Arkansas.

Dak Prescott is still the leading candidate for the Heisman trophy, but running back Josh Robinson is No. 2 on our list and doesn’t get near the credit he deserves. Robinson is a superstar running back and keeps Dan Mullen’s spread offense versatile because he can do everything. That’s what makes this team so deadly. The defense is pretty good as well, but the two-man show of Prescott and Robinson in a spread is unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed in college football. And with a great start, there’s still plenty to come.

State has to play Alabama and Ole Miss this month, so that means that the fun is still coming. Can this team hold onto its undefeated record? We’ll find out soon enough.
