Of all the conferences in college football, particularly in the Power Five, the one with the least amount of teams is the one that has two teams still in the national championship race. Imagine that for a twist of irony.

The Big 12 has been much deeper than anybody may have expected all year. And unfortunately, there is still a chance that no team from that conference makes it into the College Football Playoff.

Unlike the rest of the Power Five, our Big 12 Power Rankings this week won’t be the last of the regular season for the conference. It decided to extend that season into this week while the rest of the conferences just have their championship game.

More from Baylor Bears

For the Big 12 Power Rankings, the question every week remains the same. Does TCU belong on top, or does Baylor belong on top? It’s the same question affecting pollsters and the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

For us, what is put in the power rankings does not necessarily reflect what is put in our actual Top 25 rankings and who should be in the College Football Playoff. That is simply because the power rankings are based on how teams are playing at the time. The actual rankings, to us, should be based on an overall body of work.

So with a decision to make on where TCU and Baylor stand and where the rest of the conference stands, here are our Big 12 Power Rankings following Week 14 of the college football season.
