More than 76,000 people attended the spring game for the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday and in case you missed the game, here are the highlights of the action from Memorial Stadium.


It’s a tradition unlike any other. No, I’m not talking about The Masters, I’m talking about die-hard Nebraska fans flocking to Memorial Stadium on a Saturday afternoon.

It didn’t matter that it was a spring game on Saturday they were attending. They came out in droves to see what first-year head coach Mike Riley would do in his first spring game in front of the Husker faithful.

Following the firing of Bo Pelini last offseason, the hiring of Riley from Oregon State was met with some surprise after some down years with the Beavers, but his demeanor, personality and culture he’s building at Nebraska should be a welcome sight. And he put it on display for the 76,881 fans in attendance as Nebraska has the early lead in spring game attendance.

We’ll see if that lead holds after 40-plus games next week, including at Alabama and Auburn who are notorious for their spring game attendance.
