Kentucky quarterback Drew Barker was sucker-punched by a member of the Eastern Kentucky football team.

There should be no shortage of fireworks when Kentucky hosts Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 3 after an incident on the EKU campus resulted in Kentucky quarterback on the ground after taking a punch to the head from EKU and former Kentucky lineman Patrick Graffree.

The incident took place on Jan. 25 at EKU’s Telford Hall and after there was a fight between EKU’s Colton Scurry who threw the first punch in a bar fight at Jerzee’s Cocktail Lounge & Dance Club, according to Greg Kocher of Kentucky.com.

Also involved in the scuffle were Kentucky’s Dorian Baker and Tymere Dubose but there were no players indicted.

Kentucky.com did release security camera footage of Graffree punching Barker in the side of the head after they entered Telford Hall with EKU student, Anna-Elizabeth Marcinek who lived in the building.

Pretty ridiculous, right?

If only there was audio to hear what was being said that led to a punch being thrown. In any event, it’s not a good look to punch a guy in the side of the head when he’s not looking at you, so that’s a pretty cowardly move and should result in a suspension from the team at least and charges potentially being filed against him.

Barker was one of the signature recruits for Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops in last year’s class out of Hebron, KY. and is competing for the starting quarterback job.
