4. Will the offensive line protect better?
This question is very vague and I didn’t put protect Brewer better because I am still not convinced he is the quarterback this year. The only thing I do know however is some of Brewer’s struggles could be attributed to the line play as Brewer was sacked 32 times last season. That number amounts to almost three per game, which is more than a guy like that should have to take.
That being said some of those are most likely a result of holding on to the ball too long, but nonetheless that is a staggering number. This season whoever is at quarterback will need better protection than that, especially if it is Lawson because he will need extra time as a freshman to read the defense. If it is Brewer he will also need a good amount of time because of his lack of mobility.
The offensive line other than quarterback is the most important position to the offense because they dictate what plays can and can’t be run. This offense can be good if everything goes right and if paired with their defense they could be a top ACC team and surprise people.
A spring game may not seem like much, but it also will show how hard they have worked because they go up against the same defensive lineman with the same moves in practice everyday.
