The Mississippi State Bulldogs close their spring practice with the annual Maroon and White game on Saturday and these are the top five storylines to watch from Davis Wade Stadium.

Dan Mullen enjoyed his finest season as the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in what was the best season in program history.

More from Mississippi State Bulldogs

They didn’t set the win record after losing three of their last four games, including the Orange Bowl to Georgia Tech, but in a season full of firsts and record-breaking performances, the 2014 season was a magical one that will be remembered for a long time.

Mississippi State finished 10-3 with a 6-2 record in the SEC, including a three-week stretch that saw them win at No. 8 LSU for the first time since 1991 and beat Texas A&M and Auburn in to beat three teams ranked in the top-10 in a row for the first time in program history.

And they couldn’t have done it without their Heisman Trophy candidate at quarterback, Dak Prescott. He thrived in the offense as his dual-threat ability was a perfect fit and his leadership was vital toward the Bulldogs navigating the rocky waters that is the SEC west.

Prescott and his teammates look to begin the 2015 season on the right foot with a strong showing at the Maroon and White spring game on Saturday from Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday and these are the top five storylines I’ll be watching.
