Christian Hackenberg on Year 2 with James Franklin at Penn State
Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg talks about the second year under head coach James Franklin.
Christian Hackenberg struggled in his sophomore season after winning the Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors the year before under the tutelage of former head coach Bill O’Brien.

The first year under James Franklin had some ups and downs but after ending the season on a high with Hackenberg playing great in the Pinstripe Bowl the expectations are high for Year 2.
Penn State closed their spring practice with the annual Blue-White game where Hackenberg led his team to a 17-7 win after throwing for 109 yards on 13-of-22 passing. He was sacked five times as the pass protection woes that plagued Penn State last year continues to rear its ugly head.
Despite the shaky protection, Hackenberg thinks the team has worked hard in the offseason and ready to take the next step in the second year under Franklin.
This has the potential to be a very special season for Hackenberg and Penn State if his interceptions are cut from the 15 he threw in 13 games and his touchdown totals double from the 12 he had last year to at least 24 in 2015. A potential high draft pick in the NFL Draft, Hackenberg spoke about the team at the end of spring practice.
