Final Conclusion: Chip Kelly needs to stick with Tim Tebow over Marcus Mariota

Yes, Marcus Mariota put up better stats than Tim Tebow in college without the same supporting cast, but Tebow was going up against much more stiff competition and led his team to greater success.

Tebow also has the physical tools that we question about Mariota, and the one clear-cut difference between the two is leadership intangibles, something we know that Tebow has but Mariota has not yet shown.

This is all taken into account ignoring the fact that Tebow carried the 1-4 Denver Broncos to the NFL Playoffs in 2011, his only chance to start the majority of a season, while throwing for 316 yards to win a playoff game against the best defense in the league that year.

When you have seen that Tebow has done it in the NFL and still slightly beats Mariota on college success, it becomes abundantly clear that Kelly needs to stick with him to run this system.

Whether or not either could last long-term in the NFL or even if the spread could last in the NFL still remains a question up for heavy debate. No spread college quarterback has made it in the NFL yet.

But if you are going to give it a shot, Tebow is your guy to go with.
