Notre Dame blocks Everett Golson transfer to Texas, Big Ten
Everett Golson is transferring from Notre Dame but the Fighting Irish won’t let him go wherever he wants.
Notre Dame was prepared see two-year starting quarterback Everett Golson this offseason, but that doesn’t mean they’re just going to let him finish his college football career wherever he wants.

According to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, Notre Dame has blocked Golson’s transfer to any team they play during the 2015 schedule and some Big Ten teams. The most prominent team on Notre Dame’s schedule that could have interested Golson and the team is Texas.
Notre Dame opens the 2015 season against Charlie Strong’s Longhorns, so you can scratch them off the list of potential Golson destinations. He would have been an upgrade over Tyrone Swoopes and Jerrod Heard, but it’s not uncommon for schools to block transfers to a place they’ll have to play this year or in the near future.
As for the Big Ten teams that Golson is blocked from transferring, Feldman doesn’t specify which schools they are but I would guess Michigan and Purdue were on the list, due to their respective rivalries, even though they won’t play Notre Dame this year.
So where does this leave Golson?
A report last week said Golson would be visiting South Carolina on Monday, but Feldman said that report is inaccurate. The Myrtle Beach native has been linked to the Gamecocks since he announced his transfer but Feldman thinks two other SEC programs, LSU and Georgia could be the teams to beat.
