Michigan cornerback Blake Countess is leaving the program and will transfer elsewhere for his final season.

Blake Countess announced his plans to transfer out of the Michigan program and will play his fifth and final season elsewhere. He graduated this spring so he will be eligible to play immediately, but where that will be will be determined in the coming days and weeks.

This is the second graduate transfer news this week as former Stanford cornerback Wayne Lyons announced two days ago he would be joining the Wolverines this season.

Countess made 30 starts in his Michigan career and was an All-Big Ten selection in 2013 after he made 46 tackles and had the only six interceptions of his career. Countess led the Big Ten in interceptions that year but didn’t pick off one quarterback last year and saw his tackles drop to a career-low 24.

The 5-10, 185-pound corner who was a former four-star recruit out of Owings Mills, Maryland should have plenty of options to play his fifth and final season because cornerbacks with his experience are always in demand.

Countess shared his transfer news on Instagram in his cap and gown from graduation and the following caption:

“My past four years here at the University of Michigan have been great! Nothing but love and appreciation for Ann Arbor, the faculty, the coaches, the support staff and the great fans but after many sleepless nights and much prayer I have decided to play my final year of eligibility elsewhere. I truly thank those that have been there for me and hope you would continue to do so. #ForeverGoBlue”
