Big Ten

Predicted Matchup: Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Minnesota Golden Gophers
Likely Winner: Ohio State
Playoff Implication Scale: Very High (Win and In)

Closing out with the conference containing the reigning National Champions, Ohio State, the Big Ten is probably the toughest conference in the nation to pick.

  • Let’s face it, Ohio State is good…really good. When you can win your conference championship game and then a national championship game with your third string quarterback on the field, you’ve got some serious depth. Cardale Jones will have a full season to show he wasn’t just a fluke…but even if he his, there are still two quality guys in waiting.

Wisconsin will likely be the favorite by most to win the Big Ten West, but I have a sneaky suspicion that the Gophers are about to turn the corner and have a season to remember. They’ve got a good quarterback in Mitch Leidner, and their offensive line should be much improved.

But regardless, there’s no way the Gophers are going to outshine the Buckeyes, who will probably head to their second straight playoff berth.
