The tweets have since been deleted, but this is what Lee wrote on his account.
Maybe Them Fools up North will be good again now that they are back to Nike
Or they’ll still suck…that seems to be a common trend nowadays
Lee decided it was best to just delete the tweets as he began to suffer an onslaught of “feedback” that was not too kind.
Everyone relax..it’s playful jabbing. They are our rivals..it’s all fun. Y’all take twitter too seriously
He did manage to have the last word on things however, as he then sent a tweet that was more appropriate for social media.
The Wolverines are not an innocent party, as they did a little trash talking of their own, comparing the coaching resume of offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch, who is a coaching veteran to that of Buckeye wide receivers coach Zach Smith who is a younger coach and has less experience than Fisch.
From a public relations standpoint, this probably was not the smartest thing to do on the part of Lee, but as a fan, I love it. When I am on the field with my team in my managerial role, I admittedly talk a little trash as well. It gets the adrenaline pumping and the juices flowing and in the case of Lee, as the dog days of July continue to roll on, it expedites the waiting process as you long to get back out on the field.
Two things are for sure: The teams will be ready for each other come November 28 when the Buckeyes take a road trip to the Big House, and there will be no love lost between either of them.
