His recruitment was handled by Texas wide receivers coach Jay Norvell.
Dickson received 15 offers in total, many of them from within the Big 12. In that regard, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech extended offers but in the end, he decided that the city of Austin was where he wanted to call home.
On the Texas front, he was offered by the program on February 12 of this year, and he took an unofficial visit to the campus on April 4. On June 1, he unveiled his Top Six choices, and the Longhorns were in the mix. Many predicted that he would be an Aggie as out of 13 predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball, 92 % thought he would end up in College Station. However, Dickson had other plans.
With this commitment, the 2016 Longhorn class ranks No. 46 in the country and No. 5 in the Big 12 per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
Dickson’s speed and agility should give the Texas passing game a major boost. He should be able to help them stretch the field, as he has a tremendous ability to not only catch the ball but gain yards after the catch in bunches.
Texas is putting together a dynamic class that should make them a force to be reckoned with in 2016 and beyond.
