College football fans are a special lot. They are fiercely loyal, incredibly passionate, and in some cases, just a tiny bit delusional. So which fans have the most palpable misconceptions about their teams?

It’s incredibly hard to be a college football fan of a particular school and not seem optimistic at the beginning of each new season, but optimism can be terribly shaded with delusion as well. With new recruits every season, improving players and sometimes even new coaches, fans have every reason to think positively.

It’s just that some border on insane.
Teams that simply don’t have the ammunition to complete a target practice session have fans who believe they are ready to win the next big gunfight, and they’ll always too happy to tell you about the meteoric rise they foresee for their beloved school.
Drink that Kool-Aid, everyone…plenty go go around.
Examining each conference, here are the teams whose fans really need to back away from the championship swagger and smack-talk, and join the rest of us on planet earth for a little reality check.
