Nebraska football opens a new chapter in its storied history under new head coach Mike Riley in 2015.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers haven’t performed like the kind of program you expect to be welcoming a new head coach in 2015. With nine or more wins in seven consecutive seasons under former coach Bo Pelini, the Huskers were a pretty good team — which is the issue.

Expectations in Lincoln are much different from in most college football towns, but you don’t have to be a Cornhusker fan to understand that the last few years in particular have disappointed.
Since Nebraska’s move to the Big Ten in 2011, the Huskers have yet to capture a conference championship and have failed to take advantage of a weaker West division.
While there are no guarantees anything will change with a coaching switch, you can’t blame Nebraska for trying. Like the past few seasons, the Huskers will be contenders for the West division crown again in 2015, with the following five games looking especially impactful to their aspirations.
