College GameDay visiting Virginia Tech for Ohio State game on Labor Day
College GameDay announced they will be in Blacksburg when Virginia Tech hosts the Ohio State Buckeyes on Labor Day.
There will be a College GameDay doubleheader in the opening weekend of the 2015 college football season. ESPN’s pregame show is visiting Arlington, TX for the Alabama-Wisconsin game and two days later will be at Virginia Tech for the Hokies game against the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes.

Virginia Tech was the only team to beat Ohio State last year en route to their national title run and served as one of the biggest upsets of the season. The Hokies got some good news last week when the Buckeyes handed out suspensions to Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Joey Bosa and receivers/h-backs Jalin Marshall, Dontre Wilson and Corey Smith for the game.
Blacksburg has been one of the toughest places to play in the Frank Beamer era, but they’ll face a daunting task with the Buckeyes out for revenge after last year’s embarrassing loss. A lot of the same players who played in last year’s game are still with the team, but make no mistake, this is a much different team than the one who lost in Columbus last year.
This should be a fun start to the season and with Lee Corso and company in town with College GameDay, the atmosphere should be a lively as the Hokies look to make it two years in a row with a massive upset.
