The start of the college football season is nearly one month away and with that comes the weekly announcements from College GameDay with their travel plans.

ESPN’s pregame show has morphed from a studio show in its infancy with a niche audience to a massive production to kickstart Saturday’s in the fall.
Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and the rest of the GameDay crew will hit the road to set up shop in Texas where the Alabama Crimson Tide and Wisconsin Badgers open the season in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX in the AdvoCare Classic.
This was the expected outcome for College GameDay considering the game will be televised on the ESPN family of networks otherwise the game between the Texas Longhorns at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish would have been an attractive option.
But this destination should be a nice backdrop to start the season, even if it’s not on a college campus, and should be a nice atmosphere for the SEC-Big Ten clash.
Both teams are replacing a Heisman finalist on offense with Wisconsin needing to replace running back Melvin Gordon while Alabama is searching for a replacement for wide receiver Amari Cooper so this could be a low scoring game that’s decided by the defense.
Alabama and Wisconsin both ranked among the nation’s best defenses last year and figure to do so again this year, so not a bad place for GameDay to be in attendance.
