College Football Rankings: Predicting the Top 25 for Week 5

Predicting what tomorrow’s Top 25 will look like after Week 4 saw little drama compared to the previous week.

Last weekend saw the No. 2 and No. 6 teams fall as Alabama and USC getting upset shook up the Top 25 in a major way, but there won’t be that much of a shakeup in this week’s Top 25 after an exciting weekend of college football, albeit one without much shocking results.

More from Baylor Bears

The top two teams in the Big Ten remain the top two teams in the nation after Ohio State and Michigan State picked up wins and looked poised for a collision course in November that will decide the Big Ten champion and which team could be on the outside looking in for the College Football Playoff.

Ole Miss sits at No. 3 and the top team from the SEC with the best win of the season so far with the Week 3 win over then-No. 2 Alabama. But I have Baylor jumping over TCU after the Horned Frogs needed a fluke play to beat Texas Tech in the final seconds. Even though they found a way to get a road conference win with a number of injuries, I think they’ll slip.

Here’s how I predict the rest of the Top 25 will look on Sunday:

1. Ohio State

2. Michigan State

3. Ole Miss

4. Baylor

5. TCU

6. Georgia

7. LSU

8. UCLA

9. Notre Dame

10. Florida State

11. Clemson

12. Alabama

13. Utah

14. Texas A&M

15. Oklahoma

16. Northwestern

17. Stanford

18. USC*

19. Wisconsin

20. Oklahoma State

21. Mississippi State

22. West Virginia

23. Arizona

24. Michigan

25. Cal

*USC leads 14-0 in 2nd quarter at time of publishing and their rank is assuming they win.
