Kalamazoo native and former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was on hand for the Michigan Wolverines game against BYU to receive a special custom jersey.
In case you missed the memo. Derek Jeter retired from baseball last year and is free to enjoy as many Michigan football games as he’d like.

And with the Wolverines hosting the BYU Cougars on Saturday, the former New York Yankees shortstop took in the game and received a nice honor from Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan athletic department with his own custom No. 2 jersey.
The No. 1 jersey is a big deal for the football program with some of the best players from Anthony Carter to Braylon Edwards sporting the number, but in this case, there’s nothing wrong about being No. 2.
Michigan Athletics twitter page shared a picture of the future Hall of Famer holding up his custom jersey and he’s looking like retirement is treating ‘Jetes’ pretty well.
