Leonard Fournette opened the second half in typical Fournette fashion against Eastern Michigan.

There may not be a more favorable matchup for LSU and Leonard Fournette than the one they have tonight against Eastern Michigan and their FBS-worst rush defense.

That spells disaster for any team, but especially a team facing a running back who has more rushing yards with 631 in the first three games than any player in the history of FBS football. Heading into the game, the hyperbole was in full force for Fournette with projections and predictions of a record-breaking performance for the Heisman front-runner.

However, after a pedestrian first half, by Fournette standards, and the Tigers clinging to a 20-14 lead, Fournette came out to start the second half in typical Fournette fashion with a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second half.

Fournette matched his touchdown total from last season with his 10th touchdown on this carry as he looks to double that number and perhaps even approach a mind-boggling total of 30 (THIRTY!!!) touchdowns this year. He entered the game with an average of more than 210 yards per game and he’s well on his way toward maintaining his wide gap over the field and staying on top of the Heisman standings.
