Michigan Football: 4-star TE Devin Asiasi commits to Wolverines
The Michigan Wolverines continue their productive National Signing Day with the addition of All-American and four-star recruit Devin Asiasi who joins the Michigan football team’s stellar class.
Jim Harbaugh may be the biggest winner on National Signing Day. The Michigan Wolverines are officially back after a turnaround season and are once again a legit national power on the recruiting trail.

After landing the nation’s top overall recruit, Rashan Gary, earlier in the day, Harbaugh and Michigan went out west to California to add U.S. Army All-American Devin Asiasi who picked the Wolverines over USC, UCLA, Washington and Alabama.
Michigan was an afterthought until the 270-pound tight end/defensive end took his official visit to Ann Arbor. The recent surge was enough to make up for lost time and get Asiati’s commitment and signature on his letter of intent.
He is the nation’s 74 overall recruit, No. 3 tight end and the No. 12 recruit in the state of California, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is being recruited to play tight end at Michigan where some other schools viewed him as a defensive end.
Asiasi will be able to learn from one of the best tight ends in college football next year with Jake Butt returning for his senior season but when Butt leaves for the NFL Draft in 2017, Asiasi should be in line to win a starting spot in the lineup his second year on campus.
