Taking a look at the 2016 recruiting class for the defending Big 12 champions as Bob Stoops look to load up with the next wave of Oklahoma football stars.

The Oklahoma Sooners took back the Big 12 in 2015 on the arm and scrambling legs of Baker Mayfield and the guidance of mainstay head coach Bob Stoops. Now they are looking to expand that success to the end of recruiting.

After receiving a commitment from Mark Jackson Jr. (No. 14 weakside defensive end according to 247Sports), the Sooners pass-rush is set for the future, as Jackson will most likely play opposite of strong side end and fellow four-star recruit Amani Bledsoe.

The most exciting signing for Oklahoma so far just might be that of pro-style QB Austin Kendall, an early enrollee from the state of North Carolina. He will undoubtedly redshirt his first year, but may be in the running for the starting job as a redshirt freshman once Mayfield graduates and if Kendall can beat out backup Cody Thomas.

With tremendous linebacker talents Eric Striker, Dominique Alexander, and Devante Boyd all finished at Oklahoma, it leaves room for the young blood like Kelly to fill those spots. And there’s no doubt the five-star recruit would have the chance to be an every-down player right out of the gate.

Oklahoma put a wrap on National Signing Day with the addition of five-star outside linebacker Caleb Kelly who could win a starting job as a true freshman.

Who do you think will end up being the best player from the Oklahoma recruiting class and do you think this class will win at least one Big 12 championship in the next four years?
