Ronnie Lott was one of the most versatile defensive backs during his career in the NFL but before he was a Pro Football Hall of Famer, Lott was dominating for the USC Trojans from 1977-1980. Lott was a cornerback for USC and at the onset of his NFL career before moving to safety, so in this format, he lines up at strong safety.

Lott had six interceptions in his first two years for the Trojans and helped USC to a share of the national title in 1978. He played int he Rose Bowl the next two years and was a consensus All-American in 1980 when he was also a team captain.

Not bad for a player who was in contention to win the running back job from future Heisman winner and fellow Hall of Famer, Marcus Allen.

Lott was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002.
