Texas A&M football spring game information. Here’s how you can watch the Aggies spring game on TV or online.

After a long and at times tumultous offseason, the Texas A&M Aggies will be back on the football field on Saturday evening. Following another underwhelming season that saw the Aggies fall short of expectations and finish with a 8-5 record, the offseason was full of quarterback drama.

Former five-star recruit and starting quarterback Kyle Allen decided Texas A&M wasn’t the best place for him any longer and decided to transfer to play for Tom Herman and the Houston Cougars. Less than a week after Allen decided to transfer, Kyler Murray who started when Allen was benched, also decided to leave College Station and transferred to Oklahoma.

Losing either Allen or Murray seemed inevitable after Murray committed to Texas A&M where Allen was coming off a promising end to his freshman season. But to lose both within one week of each other was a tough blow for the Aggies.

Jake Hubenak led the team a win in the Music City Bowl against Louisville and looks to hold off Oklahoma transfer Trevor Knight for the Aggies starting quarterback job. I’d expect this competition to last well into fall camp and possibly the season, but I’d think Hubenak comes out looking sharper in the spring game because of his familiarity with the offense.

It’ll be important for both of them to develop chemistry with receivers Christian Kirk, Josh Reynolds, Ricky Seals-Jones and Speedy Noil. Seals-Jones and Noil haven’t lived up to expectations so they are facing a pivotal point in their careers and I’m curious to see how they respond to that situation.

Defensively, all eyes will be on Myles Garrett who could put up Von Miller-type sack totals this year and makes a case to be the rare defensive player who can be in the Heisman conversation. I don’t have any delusions of grandeur he can actually win the offensive award, but 15-plus sacks could make it interesting.

The second year in John Chavis’ defense should benefit Garrett as well as Daeshon Hall and Daylon Mack on the Aggies defensive line. If the back seven can make a big improvement, this could be a team that finally gets back to 10-win territory.
