The Alabama Crimson Tide are the betting favorites according to Bovada to win the SEC.

The defending national champions are the betting favorite to win the SEC with Nick Saban’s Alabama team receiving 7/4 odds from Bovada.

Alabama is followed closely by one of their SEC West rivals with Saban’s former team, the LSU Tigers receiving 7/2 odds. With running back Leonard Fournette back for his junior year and looking to make up for the disastrous game last year against Alabama, he will be out to avenge last year’s debacle.

The top team in the East according to Bovada is the Tennessee Volunteers who could be poised to breakthrough after stockpiling top recruits for the last three years under head coach Butch Jones. The Vols are receiving the same 7/2 odds as LSU to tie for second.

If the Vols don’t win the SEC East, that could be because the Georgia Bulldogs snatched it from them with the potential return of running back Nick Chubb being the biggest x-factor in the SEC East division race. Kirby Smart’s Dawgs are getting 9/1 odds.

Rounding out the top five is the Ole Miss Rebels who are getting 10/1 odds but quarterback Chad Kelly may have to do the heavy lifting after Hugh Freeze’s team lost three players in the first round of the recent NFL Draft. However, they remain a deep and talented team but getting past Alabama and LSU could prove difficult, although they’ve done it before.

Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida and Arkansas clearly represent the middle class in the SEC this year while Vegas isn’t high on Missouri, Kentucky, Mississippi State, South Carolina or Vanderbilt at all.
