  • Career Stats: 6,200 passing yards, 52 TDs , 19 Ints
  • 2015 Stats: 4,653 passing yards, 36 TDs, 15 Ints

Patrick Mahomes’ gaudy numbers are not the main reason he is on the list. While they certainly don’t hurt, there is more to this quarterbacks success than just a wide open system.

Mahomes is very good at making quick decisions in the Texas Tech offense. He has all the arm talent you could want, but is also good on his feet, Mahomes ran for 456 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015, adding versatility to the explosive Red Raider offense.

Texas Tech will have a solid receiving corps and a veteran offensive line to help Mahomes add to his prolific numbers from his sophomore season in 2015. In the Texas Tech offense, you can always expect the quarterbacks to have big numbers, but Mahomes has the ability to blow those numbers out of the water.

Texas Tech may not be a complete team but with Mahomes leading the Red Raider offense, Texas Tech will have a shot to win any of their games this season.
