  • Career Stats: 5,148 passing yards, 30 TDs, 13 Ints
  • 2015 Stats: 2,828 passing yards, 17 TDs, 6 Ints

Houston and Greg Ward Jr. had their big coming out party last year in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl against the Florida State Seminoles. Ward went off for three total touchdowns and 238 yards passing against the great FSU defense.

Ward returns in 2016 and will be looking to lead the Cougars to another New Years Six bowl game. He’s not your typical quarterback, he’s undersized at 5’11” but makes up for it with his big play ability. He has a strong arm and is exceptional with his feet.

Houston will have a strong receiver group for Ward to pass the ball to, but the offensive line only returns one starter from 2015. If the line doesn’t progress throughout the season, then Ward might be called on to use his legs more so than his arm.

Houston has the talent to easily win the AAC again and Ward will be the greatest catalyst to the Cougars accomplishing that feat as well as work towards an opportunity to play in a New Years Six game.
