  • Career Stats: 3,377 passing yards, 23 TDs, 10 Ints.
  • 2015 Stats: 3,377 passing yards, 23 TDs, 10 Ints.

Tanner Magnum surprised many early in the season in 2015 after he was forced into playing time in his freshman season after an injury to Taysom Hill in the first game of the season against Nebraska.

Mangum came in and threw a hail mary touchdown that gave BYU a 33-28 victory in Lincoln. The week following the Nebraska game, Mangum proved to be a savior once again in a last second victory against Boise State.

Mangum will have to hold off Taysom Hill in order to keep the starting job. Hill is still a very good quarterback and more than capable of claiming the job. BYU has no shortage at the quarterback position. For arguments sake, we will say that Mangum will hold on to the job. In that case, Mangum more than deserves his spot on this list.

Mangum has proven to be a leader and more than capable of beating the top teams in the country. New coaches at BYU could cause a difference in production, but I would expect Mangum to pick up where he left off and have an even better season than his freshman campaign.
