The  Ohio State recruiting class added the commitment from five-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey

The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to make big additions to their 2017 recruiting class and that continued on Monday as five-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey (Bishop Gorman. Las Vegas, NV) committed to the program. He made the announcement via Twitter earlier in the day.

Lindsey is the No. 24 overall player in the 2017 class, No. 5 wide receiver, and the top player in the state of Nevada per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He was a highly-valued prospect, amassing 24 offers in total. He was recruited to the Buckeyes by wide receivers coach Zach Smith.

On the Ohio State front, he was offered by the program August 16, 2015. He then received two separate visits from Smith on December 7, 2015 and January 27. He took an unofficial visit to Columbus on March 25, and despite getting offers and coach visits in-between, the Buckeyes were still firmly on his radar. He attended an Ohio State school camp on July 22 before committing today.

With this commitment, Ohio State continues to clean up on the recruiting trail. With 18 commitments overall including six with the five-star distinction, the class ranks No. 1 nationally per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Last season for Bishop Gorman, Lindsey caught 45 passes for 1,117 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Lindsey is very shifty and difficult to tackle. Particularly on screen plays he can use that to his advantage and is tough to bring down in one-on-one situations with a defender. He should provide a one-two punch alongside future teammate in quarterback Tate Martell and serve as a key piece in the Buckeye offense.
