Furman comes to East Lansing Saturday, looking to at least keep the game respectable. The Paladins are no stranger to playing tough opponents in non-conference play, but the Spartans are going to come out hungry and, yet again, with a huge chip on their shoulders.

Thriving in the underdog role, Michigan State will likely get past the Paladins with relative ease and move onto Notre Dame in week three, after a week two bye, and look for payback after that awful pass interference-riddled loss back in 2013 which ruined a perfect season.

There’s a new quarterback in town by the name of Tyler O’Connor and he has plenty of weapons to throw to such as R.J. Shelton or freshman Donnie Corley. The three-headed monster in the backfield isn’t too shabby, either, nor is the stingy defense which could end up being Dantonio’s best yet.

The Paladins return their top rusher, Antonio Wilcox, and top receiver Andrej Suttles while there is a quarterback battle brewing between Reese Hannon and P.J. Blazejowski.
