Georgia Tech and Boston College are playing their season opener from Ireland and here is how you can watch.

A new season is upon us, and for the Boston College Eagles, that is certainly a good thing. After going 2-10 last season, Steve Addazio and his troops are looking to prove that they can climb out of the basement of the ACC.graduate transfer Patrick Towles, who transferred in December. Last season for the Wildcats, Towles struggled a bit throwing for 2,148 yards, nine

Graduate transfer Patrick Towles is expected to start at quarterback after transferring from Kentucky. Last season for the Wildcats, Towles struggled last year, throwing for 2,148 yards, nine touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

The Eagles have a weapon at running back in Jonathan Hilliman. A broken foot suffered in September caused him to miss most of last season, but there is no denying what he did in 2014. Pounding the rock for 860 yards and 14 touchdowns, Hilliman and the Eagles are hoping that he can get back to his power running-self in 2016.

On the Georgia Tech side, senior Justin Thomas is looking to finish his college career in style. With that in mind, the Yellow Jackets went 3-9 and just like the Eagles, fell to the bottom of the ACC. Running back Marcus Marshall also looks to build on what was a successful freshman campaign last year. Running the ball 86 times for 654 yards and four touchdowns, he was the team’s leading rusher.

The last time these two teams faced each other was October 20, 2012. The Yellow Jackets won the game easily by a 37-17 margin. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series 6-2.

This will be an intriguing game to watch, especially for one particular matchup: Georgia Tech’s offense against BC’s tough, rugged defense. Ultimately, Thomas should be able to find gaps in the defense and finish the game with 200-plus yards and at least two touchdowns. The balance of the Jackets will prevail and Marshall should at least get 100 yards. This is a Boston College program on the rise, but they definitely have some kinks to work out and it will show in the opener.
