National media members hopefully brought binoculars to tonight’s Battle at Bristol between the Virginia Tech Hokies and Tennessee Volunteers.

Tonight’s game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and Tennessee Volunteers is being played at Bristol Motor Speedway. It’s expected to host the largest crowd in college football history, but there’s one small problem.

Because the speedway is usually meant for watching dozens of cars go hundreds of miles an hour, all of the seats are pretty far back from the field. Even the media members attending will have a hard time watching from the press box.

Hopefully the media brought binoculars. Here’s just how far away they are from the field.

Even though it’s Style Point Saturday, tonight’s game between the Hokies and Volunteers should be a good one. Tennessee struggled mightily in their season opener against Appalachian State, but are still ranked No. 7 in the latest AP poll. Virginia Tech may not be ranked, but they looked solid in their opening 36-13 win over Liberty.

Hopefully fans won’t have a hard time seeing the game, because they’re not much better off than the media. There are some seats that are being sold that have a view as bad as this in the Twitter picture below.

Fans will begin piling in before kickoff. The Hokies and Volunteers will get things started at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. They may have a lot of people watching them in Bristol Motor Speedway, but they’ll have millions more tuning in to see if Tennessee gets the upset they almost had last week.
