The hottest Heisman candidate in the nation right now is clearly the sophomore dual-threat from Louisville. After putting a beatdown on ACC foe Florida State in Week 3, the Louisville Cardinals have jumped from No. 10 in the polls all the way to third.

Jackson is a huge reason for the success of this team thus far as the Cardinals have put up 70, 62 and 63 yards, respectively, in their first three games. Averaging over 60 points per contest is impressive, especially when they haven’t even allowed more than 30 in any game this year.

The Boynton Beach, Fla., native got to face some familiar faces when the Seminoles came to town. Jackson knew some of the guys that played for Florida State as he faced them in high school and you can just imagine the kind of confidence it brings for him to finish with five total touchdowns and over 350 total yards once again against one of the nation’s best teams.

Louisville ended up winning the game as Jackson passed for 216 yards and a touchdown on 13-of-20 completions and rushed for another 146 yards and four scores. The final from the game was 63-20 and he finished with half of his team’s points.

On the season, Jackson has accumulated 913 passing yards and eight touchdowns with two picks and a 61 percent completion rate while also rushing for 464 yards and 10 more scores on nearly 10 yards per carry.
