Florida Gators punt return man Antonio Callaway got ripped to shreds by CBS announcers Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson after making a terrible decision late in the game against Tennessee.

The Tennessee Volunteers finally snapped their 11-year losing streak against the Florida Gators on Saturday. It was an impressive comeback for the Volunteers, but they also got some help thanks to some huge mental mistakes from the Gators.

Florida punt return man Antonio Callaway had a particularly bad game. Early on, he tried to field a punt at the one-yard line before fumbling it away to Tennessee. You would think that Callaway would have learned his lesson of not trying to field a punt inside the 10-yard line.

However, Callaway definitely didn’t learn his lesson. Late in the fourth quarter, Callaway kept his eyes on the ball and backtracked all the way to the one-yard line before calling a fair catch and pinning his own team deep in their own territory. CBS announcers Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson went in on Callaway, completely tearing him apart, as you can see in the video below.

Verne has so blown away that his voice even cracked when talking about Callaway’s mistake. The two had no problem giving the punt returner for Florida a piece of their mind.

The Volunteers ended up scoring 38 unanswered points in the game to pull out the 38-28 victory over the Gators. Tennessee is now 4-0 and looking like one of the better teams in the SEC, although they still have games against Georgia, Texas A&m and Alabama in the coming weeks.
