The Oklahoma State Cowboys kept their lead on Saturday against the Texas Longhorns thanks to a creative return after a blocked extra point.

It has been a tough season for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Big 12 program lost a game that it technically shouldn’t have against Central Michigan on a Hail Mary play that should have never happened.

However, you have to give credit to the Cowboys for never backing down from a fight. Oklahoma State definitely showed up on Saturday against the Texas Longhorns.

The Cowboys held an early lead on Saturday against the Longhorns. In the first quarter, the Longhorns were down 14-7 before D’Onta Foreman scored a touchdown. Texas was expecting to tie the game on an extra point, but the extra point was blocked.

Oklahoma State’s Vincent Taylor got a hand on the ball, then scooped it up and took off. Before he went down, Taylor flipped the ball to Tre Flowers who took the ball all the way back for two points and a 16-13 lead. You can check out the wild play in the video below.

The Cowboys are just 2-2 this season with losses to Central Michigan and Baylor. However, the Big 12 is still wide open, and big wins against teams like the Longhorns would go a long way to helping them potentially win the conference.

As for Charlie Strong and the Longhorns, this season started off so positive with a big win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Unfortunately, Notre Dame is now 1-3 while the Longhorns have taken a tough loss to the California Golden Bears. The season isn’t over by any means, but their College Football Playoff hopes might be gone.
