player. 30. . LB. Alabama. Reuben Foster. 8

The New York Jets come in with linebacker Rueben Foster from Alabama as the eighth pick in this week’s mock draft.

The Jets defense ranks 31st in passing yards allowed (303) and 25th in points allowed per game (27.2). Foster can certainly shore up these numbers to strengthen a team in desperate need of help in passing coverage.

While he isn’t the greatest pass rusher, Foster can stop the run or drop back in coverage. Foster’s got good instincts for an inside linebacker. Combine Foster with 2016 draftee outside linebacker Darron Lee and there could be something special brewing in the Meadowlands.

Foster leads the Crimson Tide defense in tackles with 37 and has eight career pass breakups in three seasons.
