College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Lamar Jackson singlehandedly demolished Boston College on Saturday, bolstering his Heisman hopes in the process. The Louisville quarterback completed 12 of 17 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns, and added 185 yards and three rushing scores on the ground. The Cardinals gave up just 207 total yards to the hosts, holding the Eagles to just nine first downs. Bobby Petrino’s team went the entire game without a single penalty incurred, playing a style that is at once dynamic and disciplined.
The narrow loss at Clemson is the only thing standing between Louisville and a perfect record this year. The AP has seen fit to keep them high in the Top 25 all season long, even after their loss to the Tigers, but the CFP committee has been less impressed by the Cardinals. That won’t be an issue after Texas A&M fell on Saturday, opening the door for Louisville to once again look like the best one-loss team in the country. The CFP rankings might keep Ohio State above the Cardinals, since Louisville needs more help to win its division, but it will be close.
