Mississippi State Bulldogs

Mississippi State 35-Texas A&M 28

It is high time we all start giving Nick Fitzgerald more credit. While no quarterback was going to be beloved like Dak Prescott immediately after the school legend left, Fitzgerald has produced all season. Although Fitz through 2 interceptions, he still accounted for nearly 400 yards of total offense and 4 touchdowns. Without Fitzgerald, the 4-5 Bulldogs would be irrelevant.

Mississippi State took advantage of Trevor Knight being injured, although Hubernak equipped himself well as a replacement. Mississippi State now has their signature win of 2016 and a bowl berth again appears possible.

No, not likely. Yes, possible.

Impact Moving Forward

-Mullen quiets fans

Mississippi State would have to go at least 2-1 against Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss to make a bowl game this year. I don’t think it’ll happen, but it’s a lot better than the 3-1 the Bulldogs needed before knocking off the #4 team in the country.

Although Alabama is the least likely of those wins, at least the Bulldogs get them at 11 AM next week. Maybe the fans won’t be as rowdy and Fitz can find a way to lead the Bulldogs to victory the way Dak never could during his tenure at Mississippi State.

Unlikely, but maybe.
