Where is the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine?
The 2017 NFL Scouting Combine is just about here, and one of the most common questions surrounding the event is just where is it? Saturday Blitz has the answer.
The NFL Scouting Combine has long been a tradition of the league. A four day job interview for NFL prospects complete with interviews with teams and their executives and coaches, as well as on field and weight room drills to determine athletic ability in the players. The Combine never fails to draw attention from football starved fans; plus it’s always fun to see what the future of the league might look like.
The Scouting Combine is held in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis has been home to the Scouting Combine since 1987, and there are no signs of that changing anytime soon. In the football world, Indianapolis has become synonymous with the Combine and one of the early season launch points for the Draft and the upcoming NFL season.
Lucas Oil Stadium becomes the center of the NFL world during the event, as media members, 330 prospective players, their agents, and the respective coaches and executives of the leagues teams all inhabit the building for four days of evaluations and interviews. The days focus on offensive (skill and line), defensive players and special teams and allow for each position group to run through individual and combined drills.
Off the field, players participate in all sorts of physical and psychological tests, written tests, interviews and for some, press conferences with the media. Suffice it to say, the week of the NFL Combine is never a dull moment, and provides many with some semblance of professional football during the offseason.
