It’s official. Notre Dame football and Wisconsin will begin a two-game, neutral field site in 2020.
The Wisconsin Badgers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish have come to agreements on a future two-game series between the two, to be played on neutral sites.
Starting in 2020, the Irish and Badgers will play an early-season matchup in Green Bay at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Back Packers. The two teams will then meet again the following year in 2021 — this time at Soldier Field in Chicago, home of the Bears.

According to Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune, the series will be announced and be made official on Monday during a news conference at the Under Armour brand house store in Chicago on Michigan Avenue. The Irish have been affiliated with Under Armour for quite some time, while the Badgers are fresh off their first season with the brand after changing over from Adidas.
Both teams have recent history in NFL stadiums. The Irish are 10-0-2 all-time at Soldier Field, while the Badgers defeated No. 5 LSU last season at Lambeau 16-14 in the season opener. Notre Dame and Wisconsin haven’t met since 1964, a 31-17 Irish victory. Notre Dame has the edge over Wisconsin in the all-time series, eight wins to the Badgers’ six.
It will be Wisconsin’s first trip to Soldier Field since 2011, when the Badgers demolished Northern Illinois behind Russell Wilson and company.
Notre Dame will add Wisconsin to their 2020 and 2021 schedules, making it two Big Ten teams on the slate in those two seasons (Purdue). The Irish are set to play at least one Big Ten team for the next 11 seasons.
Despite losing their annual rivalry matchups with fellow Big Ten teams, Notre Dame will face Michigan State in 2017 and then Michigan in both 2018 and 2019. The Irish will also face the likes of Northwestern and Ohio State over the next several years.

There are no exact dates for Wisconsin and Notre Dame’s meetings, but it is likely it will be an early season matchup given previous clashes between Notre Dame and Big Ten teams.
