Stanford football and Rice round out the final game of college football’s opening weekend. What channel is it on and how can you watch the game at home?

The Cardinal kick off their 2017 campaign in Sydney, Australia and will look to take care of Rice in short order. ESPN FPI gives Stanford a 98.3 chance of winning their season opener. Whether it’s by one touchdown or seven, it’s still the first glimpse of college football we’ve had in months.

These two teams ended last season against each other. That game took place in Stanford Stadium and the Cardinal rolled to an easy 41-17 victory. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the 2017 iteration of the Stanford vs. Rice football game.

Date: August 26, 2017
Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
Venue: Allianz Stadium
Location: Sydney, Australia
Network: ESPN
Live Stream: WatchESPN

It’s not going to be much of game, and frankly the late start makes it all the more unlikely that anyone is going to stick around for the second half. Best case scenario is that Rice keeps it close through half time and fans get to milk every last second of football from this weekend that they can.

What’s at stake?

Rice is coming off of their worst season in the past five years after going just 3-9 last year. Expectations for the program have rebounded a bit, but bowl eligibility is the highest reasonable target for the owls.

Then there’s Stanford. The Cardinal haven’t had a season that bad since 2006 and are coming off two straight 10+ win season. They are expected to contend for a PAC-12 Championship.
