UCLA Football: 5 overreactions to comeback win over Texas A&M
3. Caleb Wilson is the nation’s best tight end
How can a former walk-on at USC be this good? Caleb Wilson was once a member of crosstown rival USC as a walk-on in 2015, but he redshirted and then decided to transfer to UCLA. The Bruins welcomed the 6-foot-4, 235-pound athletic tight end with open arms.
Since then, he’s earned a scholarship and looked like a potential All-Pac-12 performer. He broke out for a huge game on Sunday night against Texas A&M, leading the Bruins in receiving. In fact, he nearly broke career highs for a season in just one game. He had 15 catches for 208 yards. Before that, he had 16 career receptions for 220 yards.

Wilson looked the part of a top tight end in the Pac-12, and maybe the best in the conference, but dubbing him the best in the nation is a big premature. It’s been talked about, though. He definitely belongs in the conversation, but there are other guys who compare favorably.
If Rosen and Wilson can continue this undeniable QB-TE connection, though, the Bruins are going to have one heck of an offensive attack. Rosen has an embarrassment of riches.
