4. Dwayne Haskins is the guaranteed starter in 2018, beyond

The instant reaction on social media to Dwayne Haskins’ appearance in the second half of the Army game was pretty much what you’d expect it to be. A good play here and there ignited a “start Haskins” debate which raged deep into the night.

Haskins attempted just four passes, but for those who have been on the “bench J.T. Barrett” train this season, they were four of the best throws they’ve seen all year.

While Haskins, just a freshman, did look like a star under center in limited time, going 4-for-4 with 46 yards, he also didn’t get to show much. It was nice to see Urban Meyer at least give him a shot to shot to throw the ball and show off his arm, but it was still such a small sample size.

The freshman may very well be the clear No. 2 behind Barrett right now, but he’s far from guaranteed the starting spot next season. Joe Burrow is still on his way back to the playing field after dealing with injuries and Tate Martell will be an option as well.
