3. Josh Jackson proves he’s best freshman quarterback in nation

It’s hard to say who the best freshman quarterback in the country is right now. Josh Jackson has had himself a great start to his first year as starting quarterback with the Hokies. However, Georgia’s Jake Fromm is also in contention for title of nation’s top freshman quarterback.

One of the best part of Jackson’s freshman campaign so far has been his lack of mistakes. Jackson tossed 11 touchdowns and only one interception through the first four games of the year. That shows a higher level of maturity than most would expect out of a redshirt freshman.

Jackson’s stat line reached incredible levels when Virginia Tech traveled to Greenville, NC, to take on ECU at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Week 3. He threw for 372 yards and five touchdowns while the Virginia Tech offense posted 64 points.

Since the Hokies have never really been known for their offense, the numbers that Jackson is helping them put up is a great sign. This Virginia Tech squad is going to be a very tough out for Clemson this weekend.
