LSU Football: Has the Ed Orgeron era ended before it really began?
By Dana Becker
Have LSU football fans already turned on Ed Orgeron following a second loss this season? It appears that way according to a recently created GoFundMe account.
Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers were stunned at home — and at night, no less — by Troy this past Saturday night, falling to 3-2 on the year.
Chad McGehee, a native of Louisiana, started the page and has raised $335 of the $12 million needed to buyout Orgeron from his position. Seven people have raised the pot, with McGehee himself throwing in $200.
"The AD couldn’t do it, so it is up to us… save our program, help our state. We have to remove Coach O and thanks to our AD, he has a huge buyout… time to take care of the cajun and protect LSU.Tell Joe and Oeaux goodbye"
Orgeron was hired after a 6-2 stint last year as interim coach following the dismissal of Les Miles. The Tigers captured the Citrus Bowl over over Louisville and finished ranked inside the Top-15.
Following a 6-2 run in 2013 at Southern Cal as an interim coach, Orgeron joined LSU as an assistant. He sports a career record of 25-31, which included a 10-25 three-year mark with Mississippi where he never won more than two SEC games.

Under Miles, the Tigers won at least 10 games seven times, including the 2008 national title and a runner-up crown in 2012. Did the LSU Tigers make a mistake by making Orgeron the full-time guy? Heck, did they make a mistake by canning Miles? It’s starting to feel that way.
