Just as everything looked like all was lost for LSU football, they bounce back for a 17-16 win over Florida.

It was a long week for Coach O and LSU as they looked ahead to Florida. The Tigers were coming off of a stunning 24-21 loss to Troy at home but managed to go on the road to pull off a big win.

The Gators and the Tigers game ended up looking like an older SEC game. Both teams offenses, contrary to past issues for each, looked pretty good. It was a matchup of two teams lining up and showcasing talented running backs.

What lies ahead for each team and what stood out to me the most from this game? Here are my three initial takeaways for the LSU Tigers’ win over the Florida Gators.

3. LSU bounced back but what can we expect

First off, I have to say congrats to LSU fans and Coach O for taking a lick last week and coming back to get their first SEC win of the year. I personally had LSU picked to lose but now that they have shown they can fight back after a loss, what can we expect?

LSU is about to hit a tough road. Ahead of them is Auburn next Saturday, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and lastly Texas A&M. The Tigers will enter their Week 7 matchup 4-2 for the season and with Arkansas and Ole Miss on the schedule still, they’re pretty much guaranteed to go bowling.

With 6 wins looking pretty doable for the Bayou Bengals, the most important question is will it be enough. After last week, fans were in an uproar and rightfully so over the Tigers losing to Troy.

Many fans looked to the Coach Orgeron hire as the main reason for this season’s record-breaking loss. If LSU can use this win as a launching pad for the rest of their season, 7-8 wins are very possible. Would this be enough to buy Coach Orgeron the time he needs in Baton Rouge?
