2. Florida’s offense still struggles

As I mentioned before, both LSU and Florida looked like the SEC teams of old. Each team threw only 16 times while the Gators barely beat LSU in completions with 10 to the Tigers’ nine.

At the end of the day, however, it was the team with the most rushing yards who would find the win. LSU racked up 216 yards while Florida almost cracked the 200 mark at 194. As good as the rushing game was for Florida, it was the lack of consistency at quarterback that held them back.

Freshman Gator quarterback, Fileipe Franks has a bit more developing to do if he is to be the future of the Florida offense. I’m not saying he isn’t good by any means but Franks looked like his coaches needed more out of him but just didn’t get it.

As Florida moves on past this loss to face Texas A&M, the one place I see, besides an off night for Florida kickers, is that the offense has to find a way to get better productivity. With Franks at the helm, the Gators running game helps but it’s just not quite enough.
