1. Michigan State is still a threat in the Big Ten

Michigan State played a physical, ugly game against rival Michigan on Saturday. Michigan State went 3-9 last season and had an off-season full of turmoil, but after knocking off Iowa last week they took care of No. 7 Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Like I said, it wasn’t pretty because they didn’t get over 300 total yards (252 yards to be exact). They won 14-10 on the road to pull of the monster upset. Now they are 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten.

At the beginning of the season, pretty much everyone wrote off the Spartans, but after five games played, we have to take them seriously again.

They have a physical defense, only 300 total yards allowed against their rival, but the Spartans’ offense leaves much to be desired.

Sophomore quarterback Brian Lewerke is a dual-threat, he does a good job at protecting the ball with only two interceptions on the season and seems to be a physical runner. With a defense that caused five turnovers on Saturday, shout out to the play of safety David Dowell who had two interceptions, you just need to protect the ball and you have a shot to win games.

Big Ten teams, take Michigan State seriously because my biggest takeaway on Saturday night is that it is going to be a tough out for everyone in the conference.
